Fun facts about the Eight Planets in our solar system
- Earth is one of the 4 rocky planets; and it’s the only planet, that we know of, which is inhabited by living oranisms.
- Venus is the hotest planet in the solar system, even though Mercury is closet to the sun.
- Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. It is know as a gas giant.

- The sun, the largest object in our solar system is a huge ball of hot gas called plasma; and all the planets revolve around it.
- It is the closest star to our planet earth
- 1,300,000 planet earths could fit into the sun; and the sun is 93,744 million miles away from earth.
Moons
Fun facts about moons in our solar system
- Moons are large, round rocky objects that orbit planets.
- Many planets have more than one moon.
- Earth has one large moon which revolves around the planet every 27 days. It’s bright and shiney at night because it’s reflexting light from the sun. The parts of our moon that we see throughout the month are called phases.
- The planets Mercury & Venus unfortunately, have no moons at all.
